Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday clarified that it had not issued any press release pertaining to the investigations of  Shujaat Bukhari’s killing and urged the media to cooperate in the matter.

‘Some sections of media is running story related to the  press enclave terror incident in Srinagar. It is to clarify that Police has so far not released any press release pertaining to the investigation.We seek the cooperation of media for this.@JmuKmrPolice, ‘ the official twitter handle of police tweeted.

Earlier a national daily while quoting police sources had claimed that the police had identified the killers of Shujat Bukhari.

The daily had said that the two of the accused in the killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari had been identified as being from south Kashmir and other one was said to be Lashkar militant Naveed Jatt.
