Srinagar: The Director General of Police, SP Vaid has said that three militants were trapped under cordon laid by the government forces in south Kashmir’s Chadderbhan area of Kulgam

“Encounter at Chadderbhan Kulgam , 2/3 Terrorists trapped . Good luck to our men from J&K Police/Army/ CRPF,” Vaid tweeted from his twitter handle.

Reports said that a joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF launched cordon at Cheddarbhan area of Qaimoh this afternoon.

Soon after the cordon was laid, there was exchange of fire between the government forces and trapped militants.

While reports last came in, the intermittent exchange of firing was going.

Clashes erupted soon after the news of encounter broke out.
