B V R Subrahmanyam appointed as new chief secretary of J&K

Srinagar: B V R Subrahmanyam, a senior IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, was on Wednesday appointed as the chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 55-year-old bureaucrat, has been appointed as the chief secretary in the Jammu and Kashmir government in place of incumbent B B Vyas.

“Consequent to the placement of his services at the disposal of Jammu and Kashmir government, B V R Subramanyam is hereby appointed as Chief Secretary, J&K with immediate effect, said the order.

BB Vyas and Vijay Kumar, presently serving as senior security advisor, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, have been appointed as advisors to the Jammu and Kashmir governor.

The governor is pleased to appoint BB Vyas, chief secretary, J&K and Vijay Kumar (Retired), as advisors with effect from the date they assume charge, said the order.
