India on Thursday  rejected a UN report on human rights violations in Kashmir  terming it  “fallacious, tendentious and motivated”.

In a strong reaction, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the report is “overtly prejudiced” and seeks to build a “false narrative”. It violated the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, it said.

The report recommended that India fully respect the right of self determination of people of Jammu and Kashmir under international law and  said that  there was an urgent need to address past and ongoing human rights violations and abuses and deliver justice for all people in Kashmir, who for seven decades have suffered a conflict that has claimed or ruined numerous lives.
