Kidnapped Anantnag girl recovered, accused arrested: Police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have traced the kidnapped girl of Anantnag and arrested the accused person involved in the crime.

Police spokesperson in a statement said that “on 9th of June one person (name withheld) lodged a written complaint in police station Achabal stating therein that his daughter (name with held) age 17 yrs was abducted by the accused (name withheld).

In this regard a case FIR.NO 61/2018 under section 363-RPC was registered.

“After receiving the complaint , investigation was set into motion.

“During the course of investigation, aspecial team headed by SHO police station Achabal inspector Javid Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Achabal Tanveer Ahmad raided at various suspected locations in and out side the District in order to trace the kidnapper and victim girl,” he said.

“After strenuous/technical efforts, Anantnag police recovered the girl within 72 hours and arrested the accused person from Jammu”.

“After compelition of legal formalities, the victim has been handed over to her legal heirs,” he said.
