A lineman working with Power Development Department (PDD) Budgam was electrocuted to death in Meerpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district Thursday afternoon, hospital sources said.

The deceased, identified as Abdul Rahman Ganie, son of Abdul Aziz Ganie of Machama Beerwah, received an electric shock while making repairs at a power line in Meerpora village.

Sources said that Bhat had reportedly informed him collegues about the repair work but despite that power supply was connected to the area.

He was rushed to Sub district hospital Magam where he was declared brought dead.
