Eidul Fitr likely to fall on June-16: Pak MeT

The Pakistan meteorological department has said that there is a high chance that Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on June 16, The Express Tribune reported.

Officials said that as per scientific calculations there are slim chances of Shawwaal moon to be sighted on the evening of June 14.

Reports said that the Ramadan may come 30 days and respectively the Eid will fall on 16 June.  In case, the estimation is not accurate, then Eidul Fitr might be celebrated on Friday, June 15, reports said.

Further details of Shawwaal moon sighting on would be available on its official website on Monday, June 4.

A meeting of the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 14, to confirm the Shawwaal moon sighting.

This year the holy month of Ramazan began on the same date and day across the globe.
