A youth drowned in river Jhelum in Pattan area of Baramulla district on Saturday evening, police said.

Police sources said that a young boy namely Suhail Ahmad Hajam of Trikulbal Pattan drowned when he take a bath in a river at Trikulbal Pattan.

“The body of the youth was later fished out and handed over to his next of kin for last rites,” police said.

Meanwhile, Investigations to ascertain the cause of the death has been started.
