‘Kashmiris victims of unruly government forces’: JKDFP

Srinagar: Voicing serious concern over the ongoing human rights violations allegedly committed by the men in uniform in every nook and corner of the Kashmir Valley, Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) led by Shabir Shah has said that “by trying to set ablaze residential houses during nights clearly indicates that Indian armed forces are unaccountable and have a free run”.

JKDFP spokesperson in a statement condemned the recent incident which took place in Gandbugh Kakapora in Pulwama while urging world human rights bodies to “take serious note of the violations”.

The statement said that “vandalising of graves by Indian forces is also a new addition to the oppressive measures. Government forces are violating human rights throughout the Kashmir Valley, thus turning the life of a common man into a virtual hell”.

The JKDFP statement also accused Indian armed forces of “arresting hundreds of innocent people, mostly youth, on frivolous charges”.

“Our youth are languishing in different jails, police stations and torture chambers. The arrests are being made on fictitious allegations which forces fail to prove before courts. Even bail orders issued by the courts are not honoured by the authorities, making a joke of the whole judicial process,” the statement alleged.
