Villagers in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district accused army of “vandalizing” and “desecrating” the grave of slain Hizb Commander Sameer Ahmad Bhat alias Sameer Tiger during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
However, police said that army has denied the allegations. Police further said that it is unconfirmed whether army has vandalized the grave or someone else, but the villagers are suspecting army’s hand behind the alleged desecration of grave.
“The gravestone is missing and we are ascertaining the facts and will see who is involved,” a top police official told The Kashmir Press.
“Those who desecrated the grave will be dealt strictly accordingly,” he said.
Meanwhile, clashes between protesters and government forces are going on in Drabgam and Rajpora areas of Pulwama district against the alleged desecration.
