A minor girl belonging to central Kashmir’s Budgam  district was allegedly raped by one Mohammad Maqbool Rather of Yarikhan village Khan sahib

In a statement issued here the police  said that Abdul Ahad Bhat resident of Yarikhan,  Khan Sahab approached Police Station Khan Sahab with a complaint that his minor daughter (name withheld) had  been raped by one Mohammad Maqbool Rather (aged 22 years) son of Abdul Ahad Rather resident of village Yarikhah Khan Sahab.

It  said that police had taken the cognizance of the case adding that medical examination of the minor girl  confirmed the rape of the victim.

The accused has been identified but is absconding, The hunt has been launched to arrest the accused.

In this regard, a case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered and investigation is going on.
