Militants fired upon the Police picket guarding the residence of PDP leader and Ex Minister Peer Hussain at Thajiwara Achabal Anantnag on Monday night.

Sources said that soon after the militant  firing, the sentrie reteliated and fired back on the militants.

However the militants after taking the advantage of darkness escaped from the spot.

Meanwhile police and CRPF have rushed to the spot and area has been cordoned off.
