Deputy CM visits firing affected areas along LoC

Took stock of the situation and inspected facilities

Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Thursday visited firing affected border villages along the LoC to take stock of the situation and inspected facilities made available for inmates at the make-shift relief camps.

Dy CM took on the spot review of facilities made available at the shelter and relief camps established for border firing victims by the administration at Higher Secondary School R. S. Pura, ITI College R. S. Pura, Chakroi Panchayat GharJojawal and other places.

The Dy CM asked the concerned officers to make sure that these people do not suffer for want of necessary amenities.

He gave instructions to the concerned agencies to ensure adequate supply of ration, LPG, electricity and other essential commodities to the affected people.

Kavinder Gupta, while interacting with the local people, enquired about the problems being faced by them in the wake of continuous shelling from across the border.

The villagers apprised Dy CM of the need for construction of permanent bunkers. They also demanded for making provision for one room flat at safer places and timely disbursement of compensation to NoK of those killed in cross border firing, etc.

Kavinder, Sham and Jugal Kishore assured the people living in the relief camps that it is the prime concern of the Government to provide every facility to them.

Deputy Chief Minister also directed the health authorities to provide adequate health care facilities besides asking the concerned to provide mobile health unit for livestock as well.
