The director general of police Shesh Paul  Vaid on Tuesday termed the Ramadan ceasefire as a success and thanked the priqme minister for the initiative.

He said the law and order situation in South Kashmir had improved following the ceasefire

He also said the ceasefire was acting as a CBM for families who want their children to return back from militancy

Earlier the  central government had announced a halt in operations in the Kashmir Valley following an appeal of ceasefire by the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti
