Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Saturday resigned before facing a crucial trust vote in the Karnataka Assembly with numbers stacked against the BJP in the newly elected House, media reports said.

The resignation came two days after he took oath as the 15th Chief Minister of the state.
