Former chief minister Omar Abdullah termed the killing of a Kashmir University professor as an answer to those “who claim jobs & development are the solution to the violence & alienation in Kashmir”.
Omar in a tweet said, “Sadly this is also an answer to those who claim jobs & development are the solution to the violence & alienation in Kashmir. This is another tragic development in a steady stream of tragedies in Kashmir,” Omar tweeted.
The tweet came soon after the missing Kashmir University professor Dr. Mohammad Rafi Bhat was killed in a encounter while fighting Indian forces in Shopian.
Five militants including top Hizb commander Sadam Paddar-close aide of Burhan Wani, were killed in the gunfight.
During the gunfight, the family of Bhat was called by the police to persuade him to surrender but he refused the family call to give up.
