Srinagar, Jun 28: One unidentified militant has been killed and a central reserve police force official (CRPF) injured in an ongoing encounter that raged between forces and militants in Maloora area of Parimpora on Monday afternoon, police said.

Official sources said that an unidentified militant, whose identification is being ascertained, was killed in an ongoing encounter.

Reports said that a sub inspector of paramilitary CRPF was also injured during the exchange of fire.

They said that CRPF’s SI was hit by bullet in arm and was immediately removed to hospital.

Confirming it, a police officer said that the “operation” is continuing.

Earlier police and forces launched a cordon-and-search operation amid specific information about the presence of the militants.
As the joint team reached the suspected spot, militants opened fire which was retaliated, triggering off the gunfight.  (with inputs from kno and gns)
