Poonch: 32-year-old resident of Jhulas village of Poonch was on Friday handed over by Pakistani authorities after a gap of five months after he went missing.

An official identified the man as Ilyas Ahmed son of Mir Mohammad, a resident of Jhulas village.

He said the village is located on Line of Control and the said boy went missing on December 11, 2018 after which a missing report was lodged in local police station.

However, few days after his missing, a video surfaced wherein missing man was found in a village of Pakistan opposite Poonch following which his mother also made a passionate appeal to Pak authorities to release his boy.

He said that on Friday morning, Pakistan authorities formally handed over the man to Indian army on crossing point from where he was handed over to Poonch police.

“The man will soon be handed over to his family once legal and medical formalities are completed,” a Police official in Poonch said. (KNO)
