Now Kangan family claims one of the slain Bandipora militants as their kin

Srinagar: After two of the slain Bandipora militants were claimed by the two families of Kulgam and Shopian to be their kin, a family from Hayan Kangan on Tuesday claimed that one among the five militants killed in Bandipora was their kin.

Ghulam Nabi Tedwa resident of Kralkhen Hayan Palpora in Kangan area of Ganderbal district approached the district Police claiming that one among the slain militants was Parvaiz Ahmad Tedaw alias Abu Mayiwa whom they identified through pictures that have gone viral on social media.

Tedwa had gone missing in 2003 from his residence at Hayan Kangan .

Meanwhile the police have directed the family to approach SSP Bandipora.

Earlier in the day, a Shopian family has claimed one of the slain five militants Muhammad Umar as their kin.

“Farooq Bajran the brother of the slain militant Farooq Bajran alias Umar said that Farooq had crossed LoC in 2014. The family has identified their slain brother from the photographs,” sources said

A family from Kulgam has also reached Bandipora claiming Abu Haider as their kin. “Mashooq Ahmad, the elder brother of Bilal Ahmad alias Abu Haider said that he had crossed over the line of control in 2003,” the sources said.
