Aripanthan shuts to remember four civilian’s killed this day in 2016

Srinagar: Complete shutdown is being observed in Aripanthan town of Central Kashmir’s budgam district on Thursday in remembrance of the civilians killed at the hands of government forces on this day in 2016.

Four civilians, Mohammed Ashraf Wani, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Javaid Ahmad Sheikh and Javaid Ahmad Najar were killed after forces opened fire on protesters on August 16, 2016. Dozens were injured in the action.

All shops, business establishments and school are closed in the town however traffic was plying.

Meanwhile people have thronged to the homes of the slain to offer their sympathy with them.
