Peace to remain elusive in South Asia if Kashmir dispute is not addressed: Mukhtar Waza

Srinagar: Asserting that Kashmir issue remains the main hurdle between India and Pakistan, senior Hurriyat leader and chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad waza Wednesday made it clear till Kashmir issue is not resolved in accordance with the aspirations of people, peace will remain elusive in South Asia.

While addressing different public delegations in Islamabad, Waza, who has initiated a mass public contact programme, said without inducting genuine Kashmiri leadership in the talks, any process to address Kashmir will become meaningless.

“By fulfilling its promises and obligations towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir, we understand the universal principle of ‘right to self-determination’ is the only road through which peace can be achieved in Jammu and Kashmir,” Waza said.

Waza while expressing his serious concern about plight of Kashmiri detainees has demanded the release of All political prisoners languishing in different jails of Jammu and Kashmir and outside states.So,that they can celebrate Eid with their families.
