Srinagar, Aug 11: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on Friday once again sought the release pf Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq from house detention.
In a statement, the Anjuman said that today is the 207th consecutive Friday when he was not allowed to Friday prayer or fulfill his official duties due to the continued detention.
The statement reads that due to his continued house arrest, the centuries-old pulpit ofJama Masjid has also remained silent.
The Anjuman said that the restriction on the personal and religious freedom of Mirwaiz is the violation of human and religious rights. kns
