Ganderbal, May 29: A girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in Wangath area of Ganderbal district.
An official said that a 17-year-old orphan girl from Wangath (Name withheld) consumed some poisonous substance at her residence.
He said she was rushed to a nearby hospital, however, she died on way to the hospital.
The body was handed over to the family for the last rites after all legal formalities, he added.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started investigation to ascertain as to what prompted her to take this extreme step. kno
