Srinagar, Mar 17: Authorities on Wednesday detained Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Zahoor Ahmad Bhat under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) for the second time and shifted him to Bhaderwah jail in Jammu.

Official sources said that he was already under detention under PSA number 03/PSA/DMK/2020) at Mattan sub-jail in FIR number 47/2018 under sections; 147, 148, 149, 336, 427 RPC (now IPC) besides for 3 PPD Act at Police station Trehgam.

“The detenue was booked afresh in the (same) Act by a local court at Kupwara under under FIR number 68/2016 under sections under sections 147, 148, 336 153 and 153-A RPC (now IPC) for 8/PSA/DMK/ dated 15-3-2021 and shifted to Bhaderwah jail”, they said.

Pertinent to mention here that Bhat, a resident of Trehgam in Kupwara, is younger brother of JKLF founder Maqbool Bhatt. gns
