Srinagar, Sep 11: Expressing dissatisfaction over the necessary delay in the results of DNA samples, the families of three missing youth from Rajouri district, Friday shot a letter to J&K LG Manoj Sinha saying unnecessary delay shows that something is fishy in probe.

The families also sought LG’s  personal intervention regarding Amshipora, Shopian encounter of July 18.

The families of the trio have said that even after elapsing of 28 days they are waiting for DNA results and the unnecessary delay shows that something is fishy in probe.

Mohammed Yousuf, father of Abrar Ahmad, the one of the missing youth, said that even if authorities will take years for probe, they cannot prove “our innocent sons as militants.”

He said that on Friday they called Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri about DNA results and in reply “we should wait till Monday.” “If authorities fail to come up with the DNA reports, till Monday, all family members of three slain youth along with local villagers will march towards Shopian and later to North Kashmir and will take the bodies of slain trio back,” Yousuf said.

The unnecessary delay shows that probe won’t be fair and the authorities are trying cover up their fake encounter but so far they have failed to do so, Yousuf said, adding that if authorities fail to declare results of DNA results till Monday, “we will march towards the burial site of the trio and blame will lie on the authorities.”

Meanwhile, families of the trio have once again requested higher ups to probe the incident in an unbiased and fair way so that they get justice.

Three Rajouri families have alleged that their sons have been killed in Amshipora, Shopian in a stage managed encounter on 18 July after which police took DNA samples of six members of three families on August 13.

However, families are still waiting for DNA cross examination results—(KNO)
