Jammu: An Army personnel allegedly shot himself with his service rifle in his unit here on city outskirts.
Police said that jawan identified as Sepoy Thammineni Ashok Kumar of Madras Rifles allegedly shot himself with his service rifle during wee hours.
He died on the spot, police added.
The jawan was a native of Parakasam, Andra Pradesh.
Police said that no suicide note or any other document was found on the spot while a case has been registered and probe was initiated.
