Srinagar: The family of the Kashmiri student, who went missing from a private university in Noida five months ago, on Sunday claimed that he is languishing in a jail in Pakistan.

The student has been identified as 23-year-old Syed Wahid who went missing on December 12, 2018.

Father of Syed Wahid recently called the Investigation officer of Noida Expressway police station and informed him about a call from Pakistan, India Today reported.

The call was allegedly made from an inmate who was released from the jail. He claimed that he was told by Syed Wahid to inform his father back in India that he was in a Pakistani jail, the report said.

“There is one more complaint filed in Jammu and Kashmir regarding a student being missing since December 2018. We have also filed an FIR,” Vaibhav Krishan, SSP Noida, told India Today TV.

He added: “We are investigating the case and verifying the details.”
