Srinagar: A militant who was killed on Friday late night in an encounter with government forces at Watergam area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has not been identified so far and was buried in Gantamullah area on Saturday evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that the militant’s body was handed over to members of local Auqaf at Gantamullah area of Baramulla after completing all medico-legal formalities.
The slain was later buried at Gantamullah near river bank along the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road, they said.
A police officer also confirmed that the slain was buried in the area.
Army on Friday night has claimed to have killed the unknown militant in a brief shootout in Watergam. The army had also claimed to have recovered a pistol and three grenades from the slain. (GNS)
