Supreme Court rejects plea seeking judicial inquiry into administrative lapses in Pulwama attack

Srinagar: The Supreme Court of India Monday refused to entertain a plea seeking judicial inquiry into alleged administrative lapses in the Uri and Pulwama attacks, news gathering agency ANI reported.

Advocate Vineet Dhanda last week filed a PIL plea in the Supreme Court for an independent probe led by a retired apex court judge into the Pulwama attack.

The petition wanted the apex court to set up a judicial commission to investigate any lapses at the local level. 

It wanted the Supreme Court-ordered judicial commission to investigate the “role played by Indian nationals in helping the militants from Pakistan in executing the Uri and Pulwama attacks. 

The plea also sought direction to the Centre to submit a “detailed report regarding the action taken against the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders.”

It also sought an immediate order to the government to permanently withdraw security cover given to Hurriyat leaders.
