Srinagar: A fierce gunfight erupted between militants and government forces at Ratnipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Tuesday morning.
Reports said that the government forces launched a cordon and search operation in Ratnipora village of Pulwama district late Monday night following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

As the searches were going on, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering a gunfight.
Reports said that an army personnel has suffered injuries in the initial exchange of fire. The injured personnel has been shifted to army hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
Meanwhile authorities has snapped the mobile internet services in the district.
