Srinagar: Mercury on Monday dipped to lowest in Drass town of Jammu and Kashmir with minimum temperature plunging to minus 31.4 degrees Celsius.

Kashmir Meteorological Office said that the clear skies led to return of severe cold wave in the state particularly Kashmir valley.

The neighbouring town of Drass, Leh recorded a recorded a minimum temperature of minus 17.5.

Kashmir’s capital city Srinagar recorded minus 3.5 while tourist resorts Gulmarg and Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 12.6 and 13.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
