Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed across Kashmir valley on Monday on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership on the eve of World Human Rights day.
All the shops and other business establishments are shut in Kashmir’s capital city Srinagar while a thin movement of traffic was seen plying.
Eyewitnesses said that the authorities have deployed additional government forces personnel in parts of Downtown Srinagar to thwart pro-freedom protests.
Reports of shutdown were also received from other district headquarters of the valley.
Eyewitnesses said that a strict shutdown in being observed in Anantnag district of southern Kashmir. “Business establishments including shops and private offices are shut in the district while a thin movement of traffic is visible on roads,” they said.
Similar reports were received from other districts of southern and northern districts of Kashmir.
