Srinagar: Bijbehara township in southern Kashmir’s Anantnag district Tuesday shut down spontaneously against the militant killings in Kulgam and Pulwama districts.

Locals said that as the news about the killings of militants in two separate gunfights in Redwani Bala and Tral towns reached the township, the shopkeepers downed their shutters and the public transport went off the roads.

Two militants were killed in Redwani Bala in a gunfight with government forces earlier today. In another gunfight in Hafoo Tral, one militant was killed. The operations at both the places are going on.

The militant killings have also led to clashes at several places in Kulgam district.

Meanwhile, the authorities have suspended the internet services in Kulgam district and Police district Awantipora.
