Srinagar: Protests rocked Islamic University of science and Technology (IUST) in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama against the militant killings in an encounter in Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar city.
Sources said that students of the varsity held a protest demonstration when news about the killing of militants spread in the campus.
Amid intense sloganeering, the protesting students assembled on the highway. However, government forces deployed there resorted to baton charge and fired tear gas canisters.
“This led to clashes. Many students are holed up inside the campus due to ongoing clashes,” reports said.
