Jammu: Police on Friday booked and arrested a man for indulging in domestic violence and mercilessly beating his wife over some family issue in Bagnoti village in Lamberi area of Nowshera in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“A lady, Sunita Devi, 30, resident of Bagnoti Tehsil, Nowshera, who is presently under treatment at District Hospital Rajouri, complained that on August 23, she was beaten by her husband over some minor issue,” Yugal Manhas, SSP Rajouri here said.
The accused thrashed her with a rod, in which she suffered fractures in arm and leg.
The spat occurred over selling of a domestic animal.
Taking note of the incident, police registered an FIR under relevant sections of RPC and domestic violence and accused was arrested, said the SSP.
