Islamabad: Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria on Friday met Pakistan prime minister-elect Imran Khan at his Bani Gala residence and discussed a range of issues focusing on prospects of bilateral relations.

The meeting lasted for half-an-hour and was marked by a candid exchange of views, the High Commission said in a statement.

Bisaria congratulated Khan on his party’s victory in the July 25 general elections.

The Indian envoy also briefed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership of India’s concerns about terrorism and cross-border infiltration.

He also gifted a cricket bat autographed by the entire Indian cricket team.

Khan in his victory speech had said that he wanted to resolve the long-standing issues and promote trade with India. “If India comes and takes one step toward us, we will take two,” he had said.
