Srinagar: Photojournalist Farooq Shah was allegedly beaten by policemen near Barzulla, Srinagar while he was carrying out his professional duties on Monday, sources said.
Reports quoting Farooq, affiliated with daily Rising Kashmir, said that policemen thrashed him and damaged his camera.
As per reports, Farooq sustained injuries in police thrashing.
Farooq was covering a protest near the Barzulla bridge.
The protesters were demanding body of a deceased militant who was killed by the government forces early this month in district Kupwara.
