Srinagar: Clashes erupted between the government forces and youth amid a shutdown in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town on Friday.

Reports said that as soon as the word spread about the killing of a local militant in the Srigufwara gunfight, scores of youth hit the streets at multiple locations and clashed with forces deployed in the area.

Government forces resorted to teargas shelling to thwart the protests, which lead to clashes between youth and forces.

Meanwhile, all shops, business establishments and educational institutes remained closed in the town.
