Grand Mufti convenes meeting of Muslim law board

Srinagar: The general body meeting of Muslim personnel law board of Jammu and Kashmir, presided by Grand Mufti (designate) Nasir-ul-Islam, was held in Srinagar

During the meeting the participants paid rich tributes to the Moulvi Mohammad Farooq and Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani lone on their martyrdom anniversary.

The participants strongly condemned what it described as “India atrocities” in Kashmir.

The meeting discussed the social evils plaguing the society.

The participants resolved that board will lead an awareness campaign against drug addiction, liquor consumption, moral degradation, domestic violence, high divorce rate, and immoral behaviour of the youth with respect to parents, degradation of environment, fake medicines, and food adulteration.

The participants discussed the bad governance and stressed upon the need to bring a transparent governing system which will restore the faith of people.

They stated that board will take help of imams and khateebs along the length and breadth of the valley for the social awareness campaigns.

“Government of India is killing and disabling our youth,” Mufti said while addressing the participants of the meeting. “On the other side, government is spoiling them by introducing drugs and immorality in a systematic manner”.
