Srinagar, Feb 24: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on Friday demand release of its head Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq from his house detention before the month of Ramazan.

According to a statement, Imam Hai Moulana Ahmad Saeed Naqshbandi expressed regret over the continuous detention of Mirwaiz and urged the authorities, especially the Lieutenant Governor, to stay true to his word and ensure his release of Mirwaiz on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat and the arrival Ramadan.

The statement reads on the occasion, people who had come to offer Friday prayers at Jama Masjid Srinagar expressed their disappointment.

They demand release of Mirwaiz before the month of Ramazan. kns
