Seven cattle charred to death in fire mishap in Kupwara village

Kupwara, Jan 30: A cow, newly born calf and five goats were charred to death after a massive fire broke out in a cow shed in Sheikhpora-Hakdaji village of Langate in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said here on Monday.

An official said that the cow shed belonging to Abdul Ahad Malla son of Mohammad Maqbool Malla was gutted in a massive fire mishap.

He said in the incident a cow, calf and five goats were charred to death., while the cause of fire was being ascertained.

Meanwhile, locals alleged that fire tenders couldn’t reach to the fire incident spot due absence of road connectivity.

They also said the area also lacks phone connectivity and they could not report the incident to the fire and emergency department in time.

Meanwhile police party was on way to reach the spot to assess the situation.

The locals also appealed to the administration to compensate the affected family.
