Authorities in Srinagar shut school without informing parents, students

Srinagar, June 29: Parents along with the students staged a protest in Batamaloo area of Srinagar city against the closure of the school where their wards are admitted.

The school namely ‘Islamic Model High School’ has been shut down by the management on the directions of the government without informing the parents.

The decision of the school management infuriated parents who alleged that school management kept them in dark.

“We have already deposited this month’s fee. Today we were aghast to see the school closed. The school management neither informed the parents nor students,” a group of protesting parents said.

They said it was the responsibility of the government as well as school authorities to get their wards admitted to some other educational institute before closing down the school.

“Where these students will go now. Both the government and the school have been playing with the careers of these students,” the parents said.

Pertinently, Education Department has directed several Falah-e-Aam Trust schools to stop schooling students after the court directed the government to close down all those schools that are being run from the alleged state land. (KNT)
