Palhalan grenade attack case solved, 3 militant associates of LeT arrested: Police

Srinagar, Dec 02: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday claimed to have solved grenade attack case in Palhalan area of Pattan by arrested three militant associates of LeT outfit at Wussan area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In a statement, a spokesperson said that joint parties of Baramulla Police, Army 29 RR and 2nd Bn SSB while on patrolling in the area established a naka at Wussan Pattan in morning hours.

“Three individuals were spotted moving towards the naka party in suspicious manner. On spotting the Naka, these individuals made a run for it through adjacent fields but were tactfully apprehended by the party,” reads the statement.

It reads that these individuals were identified as Asif Ahmad Reshi son Nissar Ahmad Reshi, Mehrajuddin Dar son of Sonaullah Dar, and Faisal Habib Lone son of Habibullah Lone, all residents of Gund Jehangir area of Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

It reads that upon sustained interrogation and technical leads the three were found to be militant associates of LET/TRF involved in Palhalan grenade attack that took place on November 17, regarding which case FIR 327/2021 of PS Pattan under relevant sections of law was registered.

“Upon their disclosure two grenades were recovered. Investigation has further revealed that the accused persons were given instructions from across the border and aim behind the attacks was to create an atmosphere of fear & chaos,” it reads.

The statement reads that all leads are being chased as further investigation is underway.
