PHE employee injured in bear attack in Baramulla

Baramulla, Oct 10: A 35-year-old man sustained injuries after he was attacked by a wild bear at Paldeji Badmulla in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday morning.

An official said that the man identified as Anaitullah Kandal son of Ghulam Qadir Kandal of Paldeji Badmulla was injured after wild bear pounced on him while he was on his way to Kandi area for duty routine.

He said that Kandal is working as an employee in PHE department. “He has sustained injuries on his head and is undergoing treatment at medical college Baramulla.”

Meanwhile, Range officer, Altaf Koul while talking to KNS said that a team of wildlife officials has been deputed to the area to ascertain the facts and compensation to the injured would be taken on the priority basis. kns
