Of total 19 persons involved in Pulwama attack, 8 killed so far, 7 arrested: IGP Kashmir

Says top Jaish commander, local militant involved in Pulwama attack killed in today’s encounter

Srinagar, July 31: The Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar has said that at least eight militants have been killed of the total 19 accused persons so far, who were involved in Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019 on Srinagar-Jammu National highway.

He said that around 19 persons including militants and OGWs were involved in Pulwama attack in 2019 of which 7 militants and OGWs have been arrested, while 8 have been killed so far and four are still absconding.

He said that the two militants including top Jaish commander Mohammad Ismal Alvi alias Lamboo and Adnan and local militant identified as Sameer Dar of Pulwama, who were killed in the encounter today were also involved in Pulwama attack.

In a Tweet Kashmir zone police said that the second killed militant has been identified as Sameer Dar (A+ category) of Pulwama.

“He was also involved in Lethpora attack and had figured in NIA’s chargesheet,” the Tweet said, adding that out of 19 accused, 08 militants have been killed so far.

Earlier, in a Tweet Kashmir zone police said that there were 19 accused militants and OGWs involved in Lethpora attack case.

In another Tweet, police had said that Mohammad Ismal Alvi @ Lamboo @ Adnan was from family of Masood Azhar.

The police said that Hmhe was involved in conspiracy and planning of Lethpora Pulwama attack and figured in chargesheet produced by NIA. kns
