Strengthen general security grid to ensure peace: DIG tells officers

Srinagar, Jun 10: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, South Kashmir Range (SKR), Anantnag, Abdul Jabar Thursday visited Shopian district and chaired officers meeting.

In the meeting, the officer reviewed the security scenario, anti-militancy operations and preventive measures taken to combat COVID-19.

During his visit, DIG SKR chaired a meeting with SSP Shopian and other officers of District Police Shopian and discussed different security measures taken for the maintenance of overall peace in the District.

On the occasion, SSP Shopian Amritpal Singh gave a detailed presentation regarding the security scenario of the district and briefed the DIG about current situation in the district including anti-militancy operations, maintenance of law and order, measures taken to eradicate drug menace and implementation of guidelines issued by the Government to contain pandemic disease COVID-19.

DIG SKR also visited various Police Stations and Police components of Shopian. He urged the officers to strengthen the general security grid of their respective areas to ensure peace and also urged speedily investigation of the cases in a professional manner for their logical conclusion.
