NIA files chargesheet against two HM OGWs in NIA special court Lucknow

Srinagar, May 29: The National Investigation Agency on Saturday filed a chargesheet against two over ground workers of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant outfit in a. special NIA court in Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. 

In a statement spokesperson said that NIA filed a chargesheet against two OGWs namely Nisar Ahmad Sheikh and Nishad Ahmad Butt—both resident of Kishtwar.

“Today (29.05.2021), NIA filed Supplementary Charge-sheet before NIA Special Court, Lucknow under Sections 18, 19 & 38 of the UA (P) Act, 1967 r/w section 120B of IPC against two accused persons namely Nisar Ahmad Sheikh (52) son of late Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh, resident of Vill- Bonastan in Kishtwar and Nishad Ahmad Butt (42) son of Abdul Subhan Butt, of Vill- Hunjala, in Kishtwar, in RC-02/2018/NIA/LKW,” reads the statement.

As per the statement, the case was originally registered at PS- ATS, UP Lucknow as FIR No. 06/2018 dated 12.09.2018 against Kamruj Zaman anf others U/s 13, 20 and 38 of the UA (P) Act 1967 relating to a criminal conspiracy by Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) cadres to carry out terror incidents at different places in UP and other parts of India.

“NIA had re-registered this case as RC-02/2018/NIA-LKW on 24.09.2018 and taken over the investigation. NIA had earlier filed Charge-sheet against arrested accused Kamruj Zaman and absconding accused Osama Bin Javed on 11.03.2019. Osama Bin Javed was later killed in an encounter with Security Forces on 28.09.2019.”

The statement reads that the investigation has established that HM militant Osama Bin Javed (killed in an encounter later) was harboured and assisted by chargesheeted accused Nisar Ahmad Seikh and Nishad Ahmad Butt.

“Nisar Ahmad Seikh used to arrange safe transport for Osama Bin Javed and other militants of HM while accused Nishad Ahmad Butt had aided Osama Bin Javed and other HM militants by providing shelter and other logistics support. He had also constructed a hideout in his own house in order to provide safe shelter to the militants of HM.”
