Kokarnag, May 25: A 19-year-old girl allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

An official said that the girl (name withheld) tried to end her life after consuming some poisonous substance at her home in Zalangam locality of Kokarnag.

He said that the girl was immediately rushed to SDH Kokarnag where from she was referred to GMC Anantnag

The official said that the reason behind her taking this extreme step was not immediately known.
