12 bore rifle, 50 grams gunpowder found from labourer’s house in Tral: Police

Srinagar, May 23: Police on Sunday said that 12 bore rifle and some suspected 50 grams of gunpowder was recovered from house of a labourer during a cordon-and-search-operation at Nagbal Machama area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A senior police officer said that police along with army’s 42 RR and 180 batallion CRPF launched joint CASO at the house of one Mohammad Amin Malik, “labourer by profession and a former militant (2004)”.

“During search , one binocular, one 12 bore rifle (unlicensed), 10 rounds of the rifle and suspected explosive materials (Gun powder approximately 50 gms), one kg bleaching powder like substance and iron/steal ball bearings (approx 250- 300gms) besides combat pouch and weapon sling,” he said, adding that a case has been registered and investigation taken up. gns
