CBSE to declare Class 10 Board exam results on June 20; releases evaluation criteria

Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce Class 10 Board exam results on June 20 this year, the All India Radio (AIR) reported. 

The board has released a policy document detailing how schools will assess and award marks to students and timelines to follow. In an official mail, CBSE has laid out the policy on the basis of which the marks will be calculated and awarded to students. The schools are required to evaluate and assess the students based on the criteria and submit the marks by June 5. Subsequently, the results will be declared by CBSE on June 20, reports said.

CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2021 were cancelled in view of the second wave of the Corona pandemic and decided to assess the students on the basis of internal assessment.

“In continuation to the same, the board has now released a detailed policy document basis which the marks will be calculated and awarded. In the circular dated May 1, 2021, internal assessment marks out of 20, as already awarded by the schools, will remain as it is. For the remaining 80 marks, the schools will give students a weighted average where 10 marks will be from their periodic tests, 30 from Half Yearly and 40 from Pre-boards.”

To ensure a fair evaluation, reports zaid, schools have been asked to form a Result Committee including the Principal of the school along with 7 members. The 7-member team will include a school teacher each of Mathematics, Social Science, Science, and two languages. Apart from this, there will also be two teachers from a neighbouring school who will act as external members. (air)
